Fantastic opportunity for someone with proven leadership skills within a warehouse environment. Reporting to the Distribution Manager,  this hands on role is responsible for leading a team in achieving the departments goals and objectives by leading by example and participating in day to day operations including receipting and storage of finished product. Working as part of the Supply Chain team, this role is based in our warehouse at Eight Mile Plains.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Manager, Distribution to identify and develop staff for the purposes of managing, coaching and developing them to achieve the best outcomes for both the organisation and themselves
  • Ensure the receipt, storage and dispatch of all finished goods and materials in an efficient manner
  • Assist in annual stocktaking and provide periodic reports in respect to stock movements.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the Australia delivery centre to ensure efficient processes throughout
  • Interface with internal and external customers in a professional manner
  • Collaborate with other distribution leads in coordinating team member schedules to balance workloads and cross train employees across all areas of Australia DC
  • Responsible for performance and wage reviews for team members
  • Participate in day to day operations including picking orders, scanning orders, checking quantities and packing orders

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
  • 2-5 years previous warehouse experience required
  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment highly regarded
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is preferred
  • Experience with forklifts desirable (pedestrian forklift preferred)
  • Good concentration, attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy items up to 10kg as required from time to time essential
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills essential
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively in a small team essential
