Overview

Manager, Ethics and Compliance, Japan (working style: hybrid)

 

Reporting to the Director, E&C - APAC, this position is the primary E&C contact for Cook Medical in Japan.

He/she will have responsibilities for all aspects of the Cook E&C compliance program for Japan,

including its day to day maintenance, development, and implementation of global E&C Function and E&C APAC initiatives,

policies and procedures based on Cook’s E&C policies and applicable local regulations.
For sub-functions within E&C (such as Global Data Privacy, Global Trade Compliance, ABAC/Investigations, and Social Impact & Sustainability),

this role will provide support as needed and in alignment with sub-function leadership goals.

Responsibilities

1.   Become the main contact for E&C enquirers in Japan
2.   Apply Cook values, policies and procedures in day to day decisions and queries
3.   Maintain compliance procedures and policies in line with local applicable regulations and company policies
4.   Review, monitor and document business proposals such as training plans in line with industry standards and company polices with APAC Compliance Team
5.   Work with Regional E&C Director and Global E&C Team to help ensure global initiatives address Japan requirements and are consistently implemented
6.   Manage day-to-day operation of the compliance related inquiries
7.   Conduct internal compliance training on regulatory changes and Cook E&C policies
8.   Support translating documents from Japan to English and vice versa
9.   Promote E&C Helpline and support E&C investigations

10. Support training for distributors on Cook E&C policies
11. Identify the compliance issues/concerns and provide guidance and implement corrective plans for resolution
12. Keep up to date with industry and other regulatory changes that impact Cook Japan
13. Update local management and regional Director regularly on compliance issues/concerns, working together to provide guidance and implement corrective actions

Qualifications

1. Relevant university degree (relevant major preferred)
2. At least 5 years of experience in compliance role, preferably in a healthcare/ medical device / pharmaceutical organization.
3. Strong understanding in Anti-corruption legislations, compliance requirements and regulations related to company functions in Japan
4. Solid experience in responding to E&C enquires, making day to day decisions and approvals, and able to work independently with limit supervision
