  • Overview

    The Director of Government Affairs, China will educate on the company and build “trusted advisor” relationships with key national legislators and their staffs. Promote the company's image.


    • Provide insightful analysis of proposed Chinese administrative actions and their potential impact on the Company. 
    • Develop policy positions and appropriate messaging tailored to target audiences, working closely with business units and corporate functional experts.  Work with PR to promote and disseminate the company’s values and positions on selected topics
    • Demonstrate thought leadership and subject matter expertise where business strategic objectives can be advanced through proactive public policy engagement.
    • Identify and monitor regulatory activities and report to internal partners in a timely and precise manner.
    • Review existing and draft regulatory and reimbursement guidelines and trends and provide strategic input
    • Develop strategies for China with the Global and APAC leadership.
    • Represent the company on external regulatory groups and committees as agreed to
    • Work with industry association to promote the company’s strategies and viewpoints. Coordinate the company’s representation and messaging in AdvaMed and national associations.
    • Working with Division and functional experts build and participate in other disparate advocacy coalition efforts intended to raise awareness on disease states, barriers to patient access, reimbursement, and the importance of fostering a business environment friendly to technology innovation investment and employment.



    • Strong scientific, engineering or healthcare qualification preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
    • 5-10 years senior management experience in a regulatory or government affairs environment 
    • Strong competency in understanding reimbursement and regulatory requirements and emerging landscapes.  Ability to identify and champion opportunities toward optimal regulatory strategies and implementation
    • Professional experience in the public affairs arena with a focus on scientifically-driven internal and external communications 
    • Experience in the handling and management of unexpected issues
    • Outstanding communication (including English language), public speaking and advocacy skills
    • Availability and willingness to travel on company business.
