    COOK Medical is a global medical device manufacturer in interventional medicine. COOK is at the forefront of medical research and product development in minimally invasive health care devices. We seek the services of an experienced Technical Writer to join our Post Market Engineering Team in our Australian Head Office at Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane.


    About this role:

    Reporting to the Team Leader, Post Market Engineering, this role is responsible for supporting the Post Market Engineering team in demonstrating compliance with medical device and technical standards and the review and update of printed material, design documentation and specifications supporting existing devices on the market. We are looking for someone who has familiarity with international technical standards and demonstrated experience in understanding technical details and being able to translate technical information into written communications with the end users in mind. Your technical writing skills will be well developed coupled with your ability to tailor clear, concise and readable documents that can be understood by all stakeholders.


    • Maintain the Standards Database for existing devices including gap analyses between different versions of standards and the implementation of gap analysis actions in existing design documentation.
    • Review and update of printed material such as Instructions for Use and Service Manuals for existing products.
    • Review and update of specifications, such as Material Specifications and Quality Inspections Records for existing products to ensure consistency.
    • Review and update of Design Documentation as part of Remediation processes.


    • Scientific, Engineering or Technical tertiary qualifications; or demonstrated equivalent work experience in a technical role essential
    • Demonstrated ability in technical writing and developing technical content essential
    • Attention for detail and accuracy skills essential
    • Experience working within a highly regulated environment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures essential
    • Experience or familiarity with Good Documentation Practice essential
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) essential
    • Intermediate Visio proficiency desirable
    • Training or experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems desirable
    • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
