    COOK Medical is a global medical device manufacturer in interventional medicine. COOK is at the forefront of medical research and product development in minimally invasive health care devices. In an effort to support our continuing growth, we seek the services of an experienced It Technical Writer to join our IT team in our Australian Head Office at Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane.

    About this role:

    The IT Technical writer is responsible for assisting the IT team to produce high-quality documentation and user support that contributes to our in-house/outsourced IT Solutions and builds understanding of IT systems in our organisation.

    • Maintain IT documentation in SharePoint and Livelink using internal quality templates
    • Develop appropriate templates by working with global technical writers
    • Develop system build documentation and manuals by working with Infrastructure and IT solutions teams
    • Assist in the development of training materials
    • Collaborate with internal technical teams and stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of software/systems and in turn, translate this technical information into meaningful workflows and guides
    • Assist in the development and content creation of an IT Knowledge base
    • Write high quality policy and procedure documents
    • Maintain and support software deployment and its process
    • Liaise with technical writers in other Cook regions to ensure document standardisation is consistent


    • Demonstrated analytical skills essential
    • Experience using tools such as Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Desktop Publishing such as Adobe essential
    • Experience using an incident ticket system desirable
    • Demonstrable technical writing experience in a software development or information technology environment essential
    • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
    • Keen to learn, adopt new ideas and work as part of a team
