The Director, Ethics & Compliance – APAC is responsible for implementing the Global Ethics & Compliance Program in the APAC region. The Director functions as an independent objective resource that reviews and evaluates ethics and compliance concerns within the region. The Director works with the Global Ethics & Compliance Officer to help ensure compliance to regional regulations and translating global strategies into local level goals and strategies based on local needs and External Applicable Standards (EAS). Assist with adherence to function budget and headcount requirements and with business plan execution.


• Maintain a high level of knowledge of the organization's diverse business activities and Global Ethics & Compliance Program.
• Partner with the Cook Medical Ethics & Compliance Team to help ensure the Program effectively prevents and/or detects and corrects potential violations of External Applicable Standards (EAS), policies, or the Code of Conduct.
• In alignment with the global process, facilitate a risk assessment to identify areas of need for the region.
• Provide and coordinate appropriate guidance, education, training, and regular communications related to the Program to employees based on job function, including vendors and distributors when requested.
• Assist with the development and implementation of Program policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct.
• Support completion of required regional transparency reporting.
• In cooperation with the Cook Medical Ethics & Compliance Team, develop region-specific monitoring and auditing plans.
• Provide reports to the Ethics & Compliance Officer and senior regional management team on a regular basis.
• Facilitate implementation of the Program at regional entities, as applicable or within multiple functions.
• Establish a presence in relevant meetings throughout the region to maintain an awareness of current and future business activities.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with government affairs by participating in their global functional calls.
• Conduct and support investigations as requested.
• Participate in professional development and update job knowledge related to life sciences ethics and compliance and encourage direct reports to do so also.

• Engage with regional trade associations where Cook has membership to help ensure representation on working groups as needed.
• Facilitate and oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Global Records Management Program.
• Directly supervise and manage Ethics & Compliance staff in the APAC region.
• Serve in an advisory capacity to the APAC Cook Charitable Donation and Grant Review Board.
• Assist Cook Medical Ethics & Compliance Team in arranging and participating in quarterly APAC Ethics & Compliance calls and APAC Regional Ethics & Compliance Meetings.
• Participate in APAC management meetings.
• Participate in annual Europe/North America Ethics & Compliance meetings and monthly calls when possible.
• Participate in bi-monthly International Affairs Call to assist with understanding government affairs in the APAC region.


• Bachelor's degree is required or Master in Business Administration or other advanced degree is preferred
• At least 8 – 10 years of experience in ethics and compliance
• Solid experience in medical device or healthcare industry is preferred.

• Experience in setting up, implementing and maintaining regional compliance programs is a plus. 
• Holder of Ethics & Compliance professional credential (e.g., CCEP-I, CCEP) is highly preferred or must obtain within 2 years of accepting position.
• Fluency in English for both verbal and written skills.

• Functional fluency in Mandarin (able to conduct presentations and training sessions, reading and writing).
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Experience in delivering training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented, and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
