Overview

The Employee Development Manager – Greater China & Korea primary responsibilities are developing, communicating and leading Vascular Training strategies within the assigned region to include clinical training, development of sales ability, business acumen and other job related skills for internal education and professional development programs. Strategies developed to stay consistent in messaging and communications aligning with division mission, vision and purpose, and overall company priorities. He/she is also responsible for leading distributor trainings, provide support on physician education where necessary, aligning priorities with global functions, divisions and operational units ensuring programs are efficient, effective and compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Create and provide training and development opportunities to all areas within the Vascular division including both clinical and sales related.
  • Support the structure for internal education and professional development to allow for global direction and alignment across programs, while accommodating for local and regional regulations and needs.
  • Create, standardize, and implement processes to ensure consistency and best practices for documentations, training content, and training delivery.
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of and adherence to compliance and legal standards and regulatory processes relative to technical and procedural education delivery and materials.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts and management to provide expertise in curriculum design by assisting in setting learning objectives and developing or revising training programs to meet the needs of the Division.
  • Coordinate all activities and logistics related to the planning, development and delivery of training programs for non-field based employees within the Division.
  • Help employees become competent in content by using instructional methods including lecture, demonstrations, small group activities, videos and other methodologies as appropriate.
  • Develop, communicate, and support cross-division programs strategies, including new product development, product launches, product marketing and field/customer support, as requested.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) in hiring, developing and retaining a diverse workforce within the Vascular training team ensuring consistency across divisions and functions and providing oversight and directions to the employee training and education process.
  • Interact with Talent Development, HR and other internal training departments in developing and maintaining a repository of training.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs that promote an ethical and compliant distribution business and enable the delivery of an excellent distributor and end-user customer experience.
  • Coordinate with divisions and relevant functions to ensure an appropriately trained distributor sales team.
  • Analyze and report data/metrics to management regarding training effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback, both formally through the performance management process and informally through daily discussions and interactions, while recognizing employees for their contributions.
  • Ensure roles and responsibilities, performance expectations, and training requirements are developed, clearly documented, and communicated to each employee. Cultivate a safe, secure, and supportive environment where employees can thrive and morale is maintained.
  • Responsible for performance and wage reviews for team members.
  • Meet deadlines and ensure employees complete administrative tasks such as expenses, training, reporting, policy acknowledgements, submission of performance reviews, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Identify and develop current and future leadership team.
  • Maintain our culture, values and commitment to ethics and compliance by recognizing, demonstrating, and enforcing appropriate and compliant behavior.
  • Understand and be accountable for conducting Cook business with integrity and in compliance with applicable standards including Cook policies.
  • Within scope of responsibility, ensure all quality, regulatory, compliance and product-specific requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Degree in related field and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience leading training programs in the medical device industry (Vascular related)is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in a clinical or sales training environment.  Prior experience in sales role would be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership skill and prior experience in managing people is preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong strategic business skills and solid experience in leading organizational change.
  • Knowledge in training documentation systems/methods is preferred
  • Knowledge in adult learning theories including assessments and competency based trainings would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate positive and constructive behaviors that drive team cooperation in achieving market objectives.
  • Ability to travel domestic and weekends as needed up to 75%.
