Overview

Manager, Medical Education – APAC MedSurg is responsible for developing, communicating, and leading the Medical Education professional and educational program strategies, in alignment with the MedSurg Divisions mission, vision and purpose, and overall company priorities.   Oversee and prioritize activities of Medical Education programs within the MedSurg Division, aligning work and priorities with global Functional, Divisional and Operational Unit teams. Ensure Medical Education programs are efficient, effective, and compliant per local standards in meeting the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders, and communicate those needs to Division leadership.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other leaders within the MedSurg Division, company Functions, and Operational Units to implement and ensure consistency in program priorities, processes and structure.
• Form a structure for Medical Education to allows for global direction and alignment across programs, while accommodating for local and country specific regulations and language needs.
• Develop new, innovative, and relevant programs to support consistent product education with appropriate messaging that meets compliance and regulatory standards.
• Consistently collaborate with the MedEd team to establish, measure and meet business plan goals for each region and program.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the strategy for MedEd programs by monitoring metrics and listening to feedback from customers and employees. Act and resolve issues and gaps quickly and effectively.
• Empower managers and team leads to allocate resources appropriately per program and customer needs in alignment with overall programs strategy.
• Manage annual activity and budgets of region and team.
• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to team.  Ensure roles and responsibilities, performance expectations, and training requirements are developed, clearly documented, and communicated to each employee.
• Meet deadlines and ensure employees complete administrative tasks such as expenses, training, reporting, policy acknowledgments, submission of performance reviews, etc. in a timely manner.
• Identify and develop current and future leadership team.
• Within scope of responsibility, ensure all quality, regulatory, compliance, and product-specific requirements are met.
• Ensure that Cooks Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf

• Other ad hoc duties as assigned by managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in related field and/or equivalent relevant experience desired.
• Extensive experience working in external education training and/or product training.  Solid knowledge on MedSurg products is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing a team & associated workflow.
• Prior experience leading organizational change.

• Proven track record of modelling the company standards that others are expected to follow.
• Demonstrate strong strategic business skills.
• With strong communication skill.  Able to work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.

Must be proficient in English oral and written communication skills.  Fluent in Mandarin is required.
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations.

• Willingness to travel within the region and to US when needed.
